I’m editor and sometimes I can use templates or elements that was made by other people. Here I’ll try to explain what can I do.

1. In my works I can use gif materials from the giphy.com
According to their User Terms of Service (pr. 4)
“… you’re only allowed to use content that you find on the site in connection with your use of the Services and solely for personal and non-commercial purposes”.
There aren’t any information about how to deal with credits or watermarks in their bio on this website. (they = content creators)
I can add this materials without permission cause this service is open and free. I always put “add to favorite” on things I used and sometimes I can follow this creators on the social media.
All materials was used for personal purposes only. I didn’t sell any of them.
2. In my works I can use templates, effects or other elements from the deviantart.com
If content creator said that the credits are unneeded I prefer to don’t put them. Because DeviantArt it’s an external site and Tumblr sometimes can remove posts with external links from all the tags that you’ve been used. It means that this post can be seen only by your subs or your blog visitors and it can be hard to reach notes (especially for small bloggers).
I’m always leed all content creator’s rules like: “add to favourite”; “start watching” or “leave the comment”.
If I add some stuff with credits I always leave credits in the post’s comments. Also with mentioning about it in the post.
